Magnitude 300 Kit

The Magnitude 300 is a full billet 4x4 transfer case designed as a high-performance replacement for the Dana 300. It was engineered for hardcore off-road use – from rock crawlers to off-road enthusiasts – offering ultra-smooth shifting, robust construction, and configurable outputs. With its compact size and versatile mounting options, the Magnitude 300 appeals to Jeep and 4x4 enthusiasts looking to upgrade their drivetrain without compromising strength or flexibility.

Key Features and Benefits:

  • Billet Aluminum Construction: The case halves are CNC-machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum for maximum strength and reduced weight (far stronger than a cast housing). This robust build improves durability and helps dissipate heat, all while saving weight compared to stock cast-iron Dana 300 cases.
  • Smooth Shifting Mechanism: Designed to be the smoothest-shifting transfer cases on the market, it uses heat-treated 4140 steel shift rails and 100% internal shift interlocks with built-in detents. The internal detents ensure precise engagement, giving the driver confident, trouble-free shifting even under harsh conditions.
  • Dual Drop Configuration: A unique feature is its switchable front output drop – the Magnitude 300 can be configured for either driver-side or passenger-side front driveshaft output as needed. This means one case works with a wide range of vehicle setups, making it very adaptable for custom builds or future vehicle changes.
  • Multiple Clocking Positions: The housing features multiple mounting bolt patterns allowing 0°, -7°, or -14° clocking. This gives flexibility to rotate the transfer case for optimal ground clearance or drivetrain alignment (useful for “flat belly” undercarriages and custom installations).
  • Gear Set Compatibility: Internally, the Magnitude 300 is designed to accept Dana 300 gearsets – either the stock Dana 300 ratio (around 2.62:1 low range) or the popular JB Conversions LoMax 4:1 low-range gear upgrade. This compatibility allows builders to reuse existing Dana 300 internal components or install aftermarket 4:1 gears for a deeper crawl ratio, depending on their needs.
  • Heavy-Duty Components: Every part is upgraded for strength. It uses AR-500 steel shift forks (precision machined after welding for exact fit), heat-treated 4140 steel interlock pins, O-ring seals are used throughout (where applicable) to ensure leak-free operation.
  • Integrated Oil Sight Tube & Improved Oiling: An oil sight tube comes standard, making it easy to check fluid level at a glance. The design also integrates an idler shaft cover that improves oil flow to the idler bearings, ensuring critical components stay lubricated during extreme angles or sustained high-power use.
  • Easy Maintenance: The Magnitude 300’s two-piece case splits at the center (not on the mounting flange), which increases overall case strength and makes assembly/servicing easier. It even includes jack bolt provisions to help separate the case halves for maintenance. This DIY-friendly design lets builders install their own gears, shafts, bearings, and seals with relative ease.
  • Made in the USA: Proudly designed and manufactured in the USA, ensuring high-quality control and readily available support/parts from the manufacturer.

Technical Specifications:

  • Construction: 2-piece 6061 billet aluminum case (CNC machined), with AR500 steel shift forks and heat-treated 4140 steel shift rails/interlocks
  • Type: Gear-driven, part-time 4x4 transfer case (twin-stick capable for independent high/low range control)
  • Gear Ratios: Supports stock Dana 300 gears (High 1:1, Low ~2.62:1) or LoMax 4:1 aftermarket gears (high range remains 1:1)
  • Outputs: Front and rear outputs accept Dana 300 shafts; compatible with upgraded 32-spline output shaft kits (e.g. JB Conversions) for both front and rear. Front output housing is available to suit either the stock shaft or a 32-spline shaft upgrade.
  • Mounting Pattern: Dual 6-bolt round mounting patterns on the input face – fits the standard circular 6-bolt transfer case adapters found on many transmissions (commonly the Jeep/International pattern and Ford/GM NP pattern).
  • Clocking Angles: 0°, -7°, and -14° selectable clocking built into the case for flexible orientation.
  • Drop Orientation: Switchable driver or passenger side front output (the front output can be reconfigured to either side by partial disassembly).
  • Lubrication: Splash lubrication with enhanced oil flow design; includes external oil sight tube for level monitoring.
  • Weight: Significantly lighter than stock cast-iron cases.
  • Included Components: Supplied as a DIY builder’s kit: comes with the billet front and rear case sections, shift rails (2), shift forks (2), interlock pins (2) and cover, detent housing (with adjustable detents), front output bearing housing, rear bearing retainer, oil sight tube, all necessary O-rings, and a full hardware kit. (Gears, shafts, bearings, and seals are not included.
  • Made In: USA (engineering, machining, and assembly by TMI in Oregon)

**This is a DIY case for you to install your gears, bearings, seals, shafts, etc.**

If you want the best, get this kit. Every part was perfect. No garbage machining like I’ve seen with other brands.

    Next-Level Design

I’ve used D300-based setups before and this one blows them away. Better shifting, way cleaner machining, and way more confidence under load.

    Exactly what I needed.

Everything was machined perfectly. Went together without any weird issues. It’s clear this wasn’t rushed or thrown together like other kits I’ve messed with. My friend just got a Behemoth, how he wishes he had ordered a Magnitude.

Not sure how TMI did it but this case shifts like a dream. Quality is insane!

The machining is spot on. I didn’t have to fight with any of it during assembly. Super happy with how it turned out.

    Wish I could rate it a 10

Needed something compact for a tight tunnel, and the 300 fit the bill. Went together smooth. The quality is way better than what I’ve seen from other kits.
